When The "R" Card Comes Into Play..

I remember when I was in the elementary school (kindy was far too early for me to remember a lot of things), everything was fine and peaceful.
Call me ignorant, perhaps the 'R' card has been played by some people but it didn't bother me at all maybe because I didn't read much newspaper nor did I have a internet access.

My first best friend was a Malay girl, so was my 2nd best friend and 3rd and the list goes on.
You might find it hard to believe, but those girls were awesome.
Then when "Kakak angkat's" were a famous hit in my school, I had a total of 12 kakak angkat's if I'm not mistaken. Scary but it's true. :P
The best part? All of them were Malays.

So ok, maybe that has got nothing to do with the "R" card that everyone has being making a hoo-ha about whether in Facebook, blogs, or twitter, etc. Or even in a song!
But of all the schooling time I went through so far, I can't deny that my elementary school memories had the most impact in my life.
I even remember corresponding letters to one of my favorite Guru Pelatih's and she was awesome too. And yes, as you've guessed it, she's a Malay, too.
So sweet that she even sent me a small souvenir as remembrance even after she left. As a kid, I couldn't be happier receiving gifts.

I could even recall the moments when we were celebrating our Independence Day in the elementary school.
We would wave the flags, sing the National Anthem, "Negaraku" and "Keranamu Malaysia" etc.
We sang our hearts out. Or at least I know I did.
Partly because if it wasn't loud and synchronized enough, we would need to sing it again.
But that's not the case. The fact that I was WILLING to sing out loud because I ENJOYED the songs and the lyrics.
So cool that I even cut out a newspaper article that showed all the previous years Independence Day logo with all their meanings and motto. I know, right? I think I still keep it till today.

Back then, I was very, very proud of my home country, MALAYSIA.

HOWEVER, as I grow older, everything seems to change.
In politics, we had a change in the government and a minister who brought up the "R" card.
In school, we have a headmistress who was said to have made offensive remarks regarding the "R" word.
In the entertainment industry, we have a singer who made a song regarding the "R" word because of the headmistress's doing, in tertiary education, need I say more?

Maybe there are more, but these are the obvious ones I know and read of.

In fact, we can't deny that in EVERY single one of us, there's a tiny weeny bit of "R" in us.
But as an educated person, we chose not say it out loud.
Not because we are cowards, because we use our brains to think and not to sit on.

We live in a country which is famous of it's multi-ethnics, which is known for its friendly people and being able to live harmoniously together despite the different skin color.

To even call people by animals, generalizing them because they have the same skin color and all?
It's frustrating to see how people from all backgrounds are bringing up the "R" card so very often especially on the day we were supposed to be united.

What happened to the time when we were in the 90's when the Malaysia I was once proud of was free from such commotion?
We are civilized, educated people who think before they act!

Okay, this is written after I read all those comments on Fb regarding the "R" word and this post is a neutral post whether you believe or not.

I'm just, just so disappointed with the people in Malaysia who are trying to bring the country apart. Are you not?

For The 23rd Time and Counting...

Well, I was born 23 years ago..so I can't be celebrating our National Day for 53 times so far, right?

Have a great holiday, everyone!

Lunch @ Pyramid

These pics were actually taken a few weeks back when I went to KL again for the weekend.
Everybody knows how fast weekends fly, but mine was extremely fast because I took a total of 8 to 9 hours of bus journeys to and fro.
Imagine how tired I was . T_____T

On the bright side, at least now I don't have to take pills for long bus journey!
Well yea, I have a very low tolerance towards bus rides, boats, car etc, you name it.
But I stopped taking the pills for almost about a year now and I can never be happier! :)

I think this should be on a Saturday because if it was a Sunday, I wouldn't have the time to dress up and have such proper lunch with Babe as I'll be rushing home to Penang.
So anyway, we went to have lunch at Sunway Pyramid and as usual, can't decide. AGAIN.

After which Babe decided to try something we have never tried before: Ayam Penyet something restaurant.

This was what he ordered.
Udang.........can't remember. Sigh. The consequence of leaving your blogging materials to collect dust in your lappie. :(

The atmosphere was really nice and they even have a special corner where you can sit on the floor instead of the usual chairs!

The entrance.

Nice lighting! I am a sucker for things that look messy and sexy at the same time. :P

See that little sheltered corner behind these people? It's the one I mentioned where you and your friends can sit more casually and hang out!

Overall the udang dish was kind of nice, quite spicy but the taste was still ok for someone who doesn't take spicy food like myself.

Next (remember I mentioned before that to try different food, we always go to at least 2 places to eat for a meal whenever we can, hence explaining why we don't order much food at one place), after some rounds of having no idea of where or what to eat again, we came across this beautifully-painted-with-grey restaurant.
It's called ZEN. *goes into deep spiritual connection with the untouchable*

They have set lunch which was the main attraction for me! :)
With nobody inside the restaurant, we thought it'd be a great choice since the food will be prepared with more effort and served faster as well!

Don't you just love the interior?

I didn't realize I took the chandeliers of both restaurants we went to until I browsed through the pics! :S

The menu. Apparently I heard Secret Recipe cakes are all made in KL and sent to all the outlets in other states everyday?

This was our order!

Ice lemon tea that comes together with the set lunch.

Complimentary keropok udang (prawn crackers).

Main dish: Teriyaki chicken.

Some soup.

White rice and watermelon slices as dessert!

This pic of mine was taken right before a disastrous incident occurred to my Red Devil. :( Babe accidentally dropped it from around 10-15cm when he was about to pass it back to me!!!

As devastated as I was, I still forgive him because I told him exactly which camera I want if Red Devil ever gives up on me after that. HAHAHAHAHA. :P

But my Red Devil is already scarred for life! >:(

This is some strawberry sorbet? Can't remember again fml. T____T

The choices of desserts! *drools*

Look at the face filled with guilt!

As expected, the food was served really quick (although the waitress was really cool and not showing any expression on her face) and the price was around RM10 or plus for the lunch set.
The dessert probably cost around RM8 if I remember correctly.

That's all for now and Babe's coming back to Penang for the weekend! Yayyyy!

How Should I Name This Entry?

Ahhh well, I'm done for the week.
5 days of holiday torturing days ahead of me and I'm totally not prepared for it.

Anyways, I've just finished a test. In fact, it's the first test I've had since I started my senior year.
Truth be told, I didn't think I did well at all.
Thanks to bad time management (again) and lack of understanding of the subject.

Initially I told my friend I wanted to sit beside her so that we can copy each others' answers because I wasn't really prepared for the test.
In the end, we did sit together during the test but my conscience suddenly told me not to cheat. wtf.
I must admit that I did cheat before when I was in my freshman year during tests where my friends and I will exchange some answers among us.

But as I grow older more mature, I realize that I don't want to lead this kind of life in my university years (of course it depends on individual, if you or your friends do not mind exchanging/letting you see her answers then good for you).
This is because when you cheat, you wouldn't know exactly how you do in tests/exams.
I believe that I should get the marks I deserve.
No matter how high or low it is, at least I'm not cheating and I get to know my understanding level more clearly.

While doing the test earlier, I must admit that I noticed some of my friends were exchanging answers.
Of course, I'd prefer if they had spoken louder and let my ears do the cheating for me.
But too bad, I can't seem to interpret anything they discussed. Not that I was listening anyway.
Then my friend offered me the formula to the problem we were supposed to solve.
Amazingly I declined her offer wtf.
Obviously at that time I still don't know how to solve the question la.

So I'll probably get zero for that but for the other 3 questions, let's just say I have my fingers crossed throughout the entire test.

So my point of writing this post is not to tell you that if you cheat, you're gonna regret for the rest of your life or you do not deserve the marks you get or you should be ashamed of yourself and the likes.

What I'm trying to say is that this is my life.
I choose to be truthful to myself and by being truthful, I know I will be able to appreciate my university life better this way.

And about my skype status saying, "the price you pay for not cheating", it was meant to be a sarcasm, in case you don't get it.

Ps: To my friends who feel offended after reading this post, please don't. It is not meant to be an attack or anything. It is just what I feel inside and I'm not trying to judge anyone at all whether you cheated or you didn't.

pps: To people who feel that I'm trying to tell the whole world how noble I am for not cheating in test, ahya, just leave my blog la. I don't think I need to explain myself.

ppps: Lame entry title. I know. But I'm gonna watch Glee now! No time to think so much!! :D

Haircut Soon?

Time for a haircut! Getting tired of my current hairstyle. I don't think it's even called a style.

Probably nothing major but I have exactly what I want in my mind.

Whether it turns out good or not, that's gonna be another story altogether.

Time waits for no one!

Birthday Mama With Pics!

As promised, the pictures were taken on the Sunday before my mom's actual birthday!

Sis was kind enough to have gone to get the cake alone because I was caught up with urgh what else but uni stuff: Poster presentation.

Anyway, this was the cake she bought!
A chocolate cake with some strawberries etc which I didn't get to taste much because of: Poster presentation.

It reads: "Happy birthday, Mama"!

We surprised her with the cake right after she (supposedly) has changed into her usual clothes at home.
But apparently, she hasn't changed yet but still, SURPRISE!!!

Too bad Dad can't move around but he sang the birthday song together with us from inside the room. Haha.

Last but not least, the interior of the cake.
Not very nicely cut though. :P
But it tasted really yummeh! If only I could have stayed for another day.. :(

Anyway, here's to Mummy:

Oh well, not that she'll read it anyway. Hahahah.

Random Rant

Ahhh. The joy of passing up my project proposal and finally able to do some overdue laundry! *grins*
And boy, have I been neglecting my blog for the whole week!
In fact, I still have a whole lot of things to blog about but that will just have to wait!

Hmm, what's with the exclamation marks!

So anyway, with some time in hand before I start diving into my assignment and preparing for my test which is due next week, there's something I'd like to share.
It's about how I'm beginning to have a love-hate relationship with my university life!

As weird as it may sound, a lot of people are putting off their guards and start showing their face behind the masks.
Myself might be included as well, depends on how people want to perceive it.

But at the end of the day, who am I to say whether who's real and who's not?
Each and everyone's brain is unique, hence explaining the different thoughts and opinions.
We cannot control what's in the mind of others and vice versa, can we?

On the other hand, speaking of my university life, I'm finally in my senior year now!
Having to go through 3 years of uni so far, there were definitely lots of ups and downs.
But there are more downs than ups these days.

In fact, there are so many hurdles in life that we have to face.
As good as a jumper (literally) I once was, I've lost my stamina now but I still got to learn to jump higher, to aim higher and more importantly, to focus on things that are more important.
And no, surfing the net shouldn't be IMPORTANT to me!
Unless it's homework related and the need to talk to my bf.

So from now on, I'm gonna blog only when I have stuffs to blog about and blog hop when I'm blogging.
Oh wtf does that even mean??

So I'm done ranting for the day and I've got to focus on my studies now.
Yes, revision is important at the moment because I'll be away again for the weekend!
Any guesses where I'll be going to this time around?? :D

P/s: I have so many things on my wish list now! Is anyone out there who is kind enough to fulfill them for me????

This Is How I Spell B-L-I-S-S (2)

Finally! My Lumut getaway Part 2!
Been procrastinating this post because I was too lazy to find time to edit the pics.
But guess what! These pics are still not edited wtf. :P

Babe and I only have weekends to be together because he's been working in KL while I'm here in Penang.
Everybody knows how fast weekends fly.
But we still try to make time for each other online as much as possible.

So on the 2nd day (or the last day) of our short getaway, we didn't do anything much because Lumut is kinda boring except for the excitement I got in the resort itself.
While we were still at the resort, we thought why not just hang out at the beach to well, take pics again and enjoy the sea breeze.
And that's exactly what we did!

But that was after we had our breakfast at the resort of course.

Breakfast was served from 7.30am till 10.30am.
The breakfast was as usual, eggs, sausages, nasi lemak, juices, buns, fruits, etc.

However, we weren't alone at the restaurant. We became friends with a lot of houseflies.
Isn't that awesome?
The room has no flies at all but everywhere else around the resort has lots of them.
Damn irritating, I must say.

Pictures ahead!

Toast, anyone?

CHEEEEEEESE. I didn't try it though.

Buns, cakes, etc.
I'm not much of a bread person.

Pancake + honey!

More bread!

Bread +butter & red bean.

The restaurant.

This is the consequences of using a DSLR for too long, you eventually forget how to use a compact camera. Hence, the pic. Not my hand!

Overall, the breakfast was kinda typical.
But the omelette was kinda nice, which explains the long queue. So we ended up only had one omelette. :(

After that, it was BEACH time!

It was already noon by the time we hit the beach but the weather was still fine.
It wasn't blazing hot, kinda nice just to chill out I guess.

No I'm not suicidal.

The beach is big enough for me to do a cartwheel! Duh.

This is actually another beach as it was separated by the beach we went to on our first day.

A DSLR+tripod+remote control complete the vacation.

Attempting some artsy-fartsy shot.

Hie there, hot stuff. :P

Babe got irritated by the flies and kept swatting them but to no avail.

Babe and his 'masterpiece'. Not sure what he drew also. hahah.

Back to the hotel to get ready to leave Lumut, which also means we've come to the end of our short holiday...

The carpet at the porch. I suppose they change it everyday!

But Babe being Babe, who always has a soft spot for animals, he insisted to buy a packet of fish food to feed the fish at the pond! :)

All in all, it was a nice trip although it was a tad too short because we didn't manage to explore the Lumut town.
But everywhere is cool when Babe's around. Heeeehehehe.

My lil' piece of advice is that if you wanna stay in Damai Laut Golf Resort & Spa, remember to come prepared with a flyswatter! SMACK!

And last but not least, THANK YOU, DEARRR! But please make sure you still have money left from your internship after spending on the holiday. :)
