~~Woah!~~ 2 3 weeks have gone since I last updated my blog! *wipes dust*
The sentence above was written weeks before I even updated my blog with the recent anniversary post! *zips mouth*

I must say, I didn't really think that work will take up so much of my time until I can hardly find time to blog!
In fact, when I'm not working, I would prefer to be non-productive by lazing around and do some shopping!

Anyways, am gonna blog about New Year and how I spent it!

We then headed to the hotel and managed to catch Ella from SHE singing! Although what we saw was just her back! :( Damn cheapo! Hahaha.

We even witnessed the annual fireworks at Sunway Pyramid! It was my first time spending New Year in Sunway and it was rather fun (except for the fact that we had to squeeze our way to watch the singers perform live)!

Went to MidValley the next day in hopes of getting myself new outfits for CNY! *excuses, actually just wanna shop for fun*

Treated the bf and his bro to Esquire Kitchen for the new year!

Speaking of which, we (or perhaps it's just me) had a fairly bad experience during our first dinner of 2012 in Esquire Kitchen, Sunway Pyramid.
Not sure if you guys noticed, you are entitled to 4 fried dumplings for FREE if you dine at the restaurant with bill more than RM45 provided you have an active Jusco card.
So since our mel exceeded that amount, we informed the waitress about the free dumplings and she jotted it down onto our order list.

This is how the dumplings look like in their menu.

More than 30 minutes later after we have finished eating our meal, we still didn't get the dumpings so I decided to ask the waitress again but to no avail.
After 3 attempts, the dumplings were served to us and this was how it was presented to us:

The photo I took was exactly how it looked like when it reached us except that one was eaten already.
Other than that, nothing was moved.
Such poor presentation, it kinda make me feel like they were not satisfied with giving us these free dumplings and decided to come with such poor presentation and look at the OIL!!!
And no, usually the dishes in Esquire Kitchen are nicely presented but not for this dish!!

Gonna ban it for sometime now. Thanks for ruining my first dinner of the year, ESQUIRE KITCHEN!

Happy 8th Anniversary!!

It was our 8th Anniversary yesterday which also coincided with the 2nd day of the lunar New Year!

We had a simple dinner and took a stroll on the beach while reminiscing on our journey thus far.

It was nothing out of the norm but I'm happy because he's finally back to celebrate this special occasion together after so long!

Highlights of 2011

So this year has been....*shrugs*, I don't know...I just feel like it whisks by so quickly and now I'm reaching the last day of the year.
I've done things which I'm proud of, yet there are also many things which I wished I could have done better.

So to recap what I've done or been through this year, I decided to list down the 10 moments in 2011 which have left a deep impact in me (in non chronological order):

1. Welcoming 2011 in London

This is by far the most awesome dream of mine which came true much earlier than expected.
After all the years of LDR, I've always have this thought that I'll only see him after 9 months (which is supposed to be June this year) but he has always proven me wrong.

The London Eye was completely covered by the fireworks in the orange sky!

The fireworks in London during this New Year (2011) was by far the best fireworks I've ever witnessed.
I was simply lost for words to describe how I felt at that very moment and I'm just glad he was there with me. :)

2. Attended Johnnie Walker event for the 1st time

This was probably one of the weirdest yet exciting moment of my life in 2011.
I came back from a not-so-fine day at work and upon checking my fb, Johnnie Walker surprised me with 4 VIP tickets to its Black Circuit Party in Penang (which I blogger about here and here).

The thing is, I didn't do anything to win those tickets! Such a blessing in disguise!

3. Passing of grandma

It happened just last month.

I was about to head for dinner with my colleague when i received a distress call from my sister asking me to talk to my grandma who was then in a coma due to heart attack.

I was heartbroken. Before I left to KL, she told me to come back more often to visit her.

I did go back, but it wasn't often enough.

She was the first closest family member of mine to pass away.

This was the last photo I took with her in October.

RIP, Grandma. I miss you.

4. Graduated

After 4 years,

I FREAKING GRADUATED! Fine, not first class, but 2nd Upper is good enough!

5. Landed a job with world's 3rd largest oil & gas company

It was always just a dream....a dream which I never thought would come true at all.

6. He came back for good

Yes! Like finally! Although I know in the UK, he'll get paid much higher than in Malaysia but I'm glad he's back here for good.

7. Moved to KL

This is also something which I have never really expected.
Ever since I chose engineering as my bachelors, I have always seen myself working in one of the engineering companies in Penang (which is like really abundant btw) and be the typical 9-5 engineer for maybe the rest of my life or at least until I retire.

But I turned out to be wrong! In fact, I'm glad I was wrong because nobody wants to be ordinary.
Leading my life as said in the above paragraph would be what everyone is expecting out of me so I guess I'm just glad I changed it.

8. Won consolation prize for a competition

Oh yeah, remember I joined this competition a month ago?
Thanks to all my friends, I got number 7!!!

9. Have the most awesome colleagues ever

10. A new smartphone as Christmas present!

I got a white 4S! A promise which he made for me years ago. :)
Oh and I name it Snowy...because it's white and it came during Christmas! :D

Anyhow, everything that has happened in 2011 will only be a distant memories of the past.
Embrace all the good things you have done and learn from the wrongs!

Crazy Warehouse Sales Around KL

For the past 23 years of my life, I can only yearn to have expensive skincare and make up products.
And that is also after getting to know the existence of CLEO the magazine during my late teenage years which eventually created all these materialistic wants in me.

But now that I have started working, I still find it difficult to purchase products like Clinique, Shu Uemura, etc ~~maybe because I have Penang blood in me wtf.~~
Nonetheless, I'm always on the lookout for great deals especially now that I'm working in KL.
And after being here for only almost 3 months, I've been to 4 warehouse sales and was informed about countless warehouse sales around KL.
Yup, it's THAT crazy!

Anyway, I successfully purchased some stuffs in 3 out of 4 warehouse sales I've been to and I think it's quite commendable for someone like me!

First warehouse sales I went to: L'Oreal Great Deals At Parkroyal Hotel, KL

Seriously, this is like a prayer came true.
I've always wanted to get myself the cleansing oil from Shu Uemura but was always hesitant to buy it because of the exorbitant price.
So yes, my make up prayer is finally answered!

High Performance Balancing Cleansing Oil (150ml) from Shu Uemura's Christmas Collection 2010.

Tell me this doesn't make you wanna buy their Christmas Collection! (if you're as vain as me la)

So yes, the cleansing oil was manufactured last year but most of my make up products last for more than a year so...*shrugs*
Nonetheless, I love how my skin feels after using it.
Imagine having to clean the toughest waterproof mascara in just seconds!
No more worries of causing more wrinkles around your eyes if you keep wiping your eye area with cotton pads!

The 2nd item I bought was their blusher!
This was quite an impulse purchase but since my Maybelline blusher is finishing so I guess why not!

I simply love how it gave me the natural glow on my face with just one application!

2nd warehouse sales with a successful purchase was the F.O.S. warehouse sales in Jaya One not too long ago.

My purchase? A H&M sports bra for a freaking RM5! :D

I'm not used to going to the gym often but after buying this, I'm determined to go to the gym every chance I get! *crosses fingers

Moving on to the last warehouse sales (thus far) with another successful purchase was the Adidas Warehouse Sales in Sunway Putra Mall right beside PWTC.

Although I did not win a lot of competitions, but I guess I had my fair share of experiencing where these competitions brought me to.

Of Farewells, Friends & Acquaintances

I consider myself as one of those lucky ones who is constantly surrounded by great friends, which explains why I always feel the ultimate guilt whenever I have to turn down my friends' offer to any event/occasion.

Unless of course if I really can't avoid that something and it gives me no choice but to decline the offer.

You know what they say, you never know what you've got till it's gone.
True enough, after leaving uni, I hardly see or meet up with any of my uni mates until now because I've taken this path I'm on right now.

Anyway, before I get all teary eyed, I'm gonna talk about the farewells my friends did for me before I left my little island.

#1 Farewell lunch with former colleagues

I have never really mentioned about my previous job as a product engineer for 4 months in Penang.
Partly because I felt like I wasn't able to fit in in the beginning of my job but eventually it got better towards the end (maybe that's why it got better wtf).

Another is because my direct superior is my now cousin brother-in-law wtf.
Just in case if you're wondering, I went through all the interview stages just like everyone else and I thought I did pretty well lah. Not because he helped me (or that's what I'd like to believe wtf wtf) <--- non-stop cursing because when I think of it, damn, I could have been helped!

Anyway, as one of the (probably) thousands of engineers in Penang, my job scope wasn't that much different of a process engineer, an R&D engineer and many others.
So it's pretty safe to say that my workload is basically similar to other engineers.
The only thing that makes the difference is the background of the people I work with.
If you have almost the same schooling background as I did, you'll probably understand what I mean by 'background'.
'Nuff said.

So anyway, on the last few days of my service, my awesome colleagues decided to throw me a simple and somewhat conventional farewell: FREE LUNCH!!
Oh, how can I ever say no to FOOD! More pleaseeeeeeee! :D

#2 Farewell outing with uni mates

4 years of uni. And some only had gone through uni for 3 years.
The only thing I can complain about throughout my entire uni life is about my lecturers and the one and only thing I loveeeeeee most about university is my AWESOME AWESOME FRIENDS!!
These are the type of friends who came from different backgrounds, while we had our fair share of disagreements and etc, we still manage to stay together and laugh it off at the end of the day.
Truth be told, without them, I'm close to nothing.

I treasure them a lot because they make me feel like I'm there for a reason.
They let me know what friendship is and I'm just so glad I found them.

So a few of my uni friends decided to throw me a farewell outing (sounds weird, but it's not a party wor) at Overtime, Gurney!
It was my first time there and as you would have guessed it, I had a ball!

#3 Farewell dinner with high school awesome high school mates

Okay...my apologies if this post is getting boring but farewells don't come very often do they (actually I was very tempted to say free meals wtf)?!

The penultimate farewell I had was with 2 of my AWESOMEST high school friends: Eve and CY!!

If you read my blog long enough, you would have known these are the 2 friends who constantly appear on my blog!

They are the ones whom I (sometimes) spilt secrets to but hey, no worries, they are reall good secret keepers! Haha.

These 2 people are whom I don't have to keep my manners whenever they around because I lost all my manners when I'm with them (geddit geddit)!

Anyway, for someone who loves good food (okay, who doesn't love good food right), I definitely can't say no to this: International Buffet at Rasa Sayang Hotel when they told me that's where they'll be holding my farewell at!

See what I mean?? Camwhoring non-stop at the hotel lobby...where are our manners?! Yup, I have my ugly moments, too!

Well, with such awesome dinner, I can't resist but to share some food pics with you all!

kids. Kids. KIDS!! Scared ya, yet?

Kids always have their way to melt my heart.
It could be due to the fact that I'm the youngest in my family, so I've always wondered how it would be like to have a younger sibling (preferably sister, don't ask me why).

Anyway, the reason of this short blog post is simple; to share with you all videos I recently came across on Facebook and it practically made my day today at ~~work~~.

It could be their complexion, the color of their eyes and their features.... *melts*

Johnnie Walker Black Circuit Party Penang 2011

Okay so this might be veryyyy outdated but if you have read this post I wrote earlier, you would have known that I was part of possibly the year's most happening party in Penang: Johnnie Walker Step Inside The Black Circuit Party!!
I was somehow invited to the party which was held somewhere in August after the Johnnie Walker Malaysia peeps informed me on my Fb inbox that I have won myself 4 passes to the party which I have totally no idea of.
I have never joined any competition, not to mention 'Like' any of JW's fanpage.
Nonetheless, I decided to RSVP and party for the (first &) last time before I left to KL! :)

Us with the 'Penguins'..Babe refers the 2 girls at the side as 'Penguins' because of their outfit and damn, they're HOT!!!!

Our gold cuffs - which were our passes to enter the premise.

I'm suddenly reminded of the 'VIP' treatment we received when we arrived at the venue, which was at 32 Mansion (mind you, everyone who was invited was considered VIP according to the invitation package).
It was drizzling and there were valets available at the entrance of 32 Mansion.
Upon seeing others handing their cars to the valet (and we were also told to do so by the first valet we met), I asked Babe to pass over the car keys to the valets so that we don't have to walk in the rain.
So when he was about to stop the car (with all of us still inside the car) and pass the key to the valet, the stupid valet rushed us and asked us to move our car out of the way and the mansion.
Like WTF??!
Just because the car we used at that time was not a Merc or Ferrari, we don't deserve the equal treatment?
Worst was that we even saw a few other cars who were allowed to park inside the compound after us - no, their cars are neither Merc nor Ferrari.
So much for the 'VIP' treatment.

Anyway, after that we went straight into the mansion and partied the night away!
Each of us was given 2 JW door gifts consisting of a Vodafone keychain, a JW necklace for the girls and a JW pin for the guys!

One thing I would have prefered the JW peeps to do is to have the event on a Friday or weekend instead of during the weekday because most of us need to work the next day so we went back at midnight before the party reached its climax... :(

Am Officially A Graduate!

FINALLY!

After 4 years of sweat and tears, I can now proudly call myself a graduate (although I have pretty much been calling myself that for the past 4 months - illegally)!
To be honest, I don't know if you call this as being pessimistic or not, but I never really see myself wearing that purple robe with a mortar board on my head because..........I really have no idea.
It could be because I like to live for the moment (not entirely true but it sounds like it) and I can't be bothered about the future that much.
Even after ending my 6th Form life, I was doubtful on which path I should take.

However as life takes its toll on me, I somehow ended up with a Bachelor's Degree in Materials Engineering but I'm now working for an oil & gas company as a future SAP Analyst.
Totally nothing to do with the course I took for 4 years.
I do feel sad and reluctant to let this engineering part of me go but I guess like what Babe said, no one will take away the engineering knowledge I have in me (albeit not much - hahah).
Meaning to say if I were to step into the engineering world again after this, it wouldn't be that difficult.
Hey, after all I had almost half a year's experience in the manufacturing line!

Anyway, here's the happy part- my Convocation!!!

Goodbye to One and Hello to Another

This year has been ~~rather~~ very hectic for me, with an addition of two responsibilities on my shoulders in the first 2 quarters of the year: as a final year student and as a contract engineer in a multinational electronics company.
Having said that, I haven't regretted once because I know that I've been very blessed.

Nevertheless, it was tough in the beginning, but somehow, I managed to pull it off with a Upper 2nd Class Honours in my hands (well, about to be in my hands by end of this month!).
But like they say, everything is about balance.
So I did not have any graduation trip with my family or friends, not to mention, not even a holiday since I came back from London (January 2011 to be exact)!
Yes, that's sad.

But lo and behold, after 4 months of being in the electronics company and 3 months after my unofficial graduation, I was offered a position as a graduate trainee at a British oil and gas company.
I was almost blown out of my mind because, hello, oil and gas??
Something I could only dream of it in my, well, dreams.
So, again, I have been blessed.

But all things must come with a consequence(s), which brings us back to the balance I mentioned.
By accepting this new job offer, I will have to give up on a title which I've been yearning for for the past years: Engineer.
I didn't really see that coming but oh well, we must always adapt ourselves to changes, right?
On top of that, I have to forgo my chance of going to:

Honolulu, Hawaii.

and instead, for an exchange, my new company is sending me to:

Ma' Daerah, Terengganu.

Oh yes, that's a LOTTTTTTTT of differences.
So I was sad, disappointed and had a lot of mixed emotions because I had to miss out the chance of going to one of the beaches I have always wanted to go.
But, there's a but, as a balance AGAIN, I do not have to spend a single dime on my trip to Terengganu and on top of that, I'll be given pocket money!
How awesome, right?
I guess Hawaii will have to wait......*frowns

Anyway, I can't wait to go for my convocation this 24th of September (Saturday)!
So those of you who are in Penang at that time, do drop by for my convo!
Just bring ~~lots of gifts for me~~ yourselves!! :D

Sunway Giza: The Zun Kitchenette

Whee! Decided to visit Sunway Giza for the first time since I had a date with ZM there and thanks to Babe, I now know how to navigate my way to not just around Sunway, but more! :)

It our first time in Sunway Giza so we didn't have any idea of what and where to eat!
After walking around for a bit, we decided to dine at The Zun Kitchenette as Babe wants something soupy and non-heaty.

Apparently the food in this restaurant is served using Eu Yan Sang's herbs and whatnot!
No wonder the food smells and tastes so good!

So here's what we ordered:

Salt-baked chicken drumstick @ RM16.80.

Babe had the above and commented that the rice tasted quite typical but the chicken drumstick was quite good.
But I don't think it's worth RM16.80....

Noodle with duck leg & dried..........vege? @ RM15.80.

I ordered the noodles. The noodles texture reminds me of the wan than mee noodles in Penang! *homesick
And as a duck lover, I must say I'm quite impressed with the meat!
It's been long since I tasted duck meat cooked that way and the soup was just fantastic!
The soup tasted like the herbal soup my mom used to cook at home. T__T *super homesick

I love the drink, too!
It's not your typical honey lemon juice or something, it has that refreshing taste which you can't get at just anywhere!

Because I think I'm getting chubbier.

So it's been almost a week since I settled in KL and one of the few things I have realized is that...

I'VE GOTTEN CHUBBIER!!

Well, it may sound like a good thing to a lot of people who think that I'm too thin (which I agree so) but gaining 'round' at inappropriate places is totally not something I'm comfortable with!

But I'm quite positive that after tomorrow, I will be facing lots of new things with new surroundings and new people around me!
So I hope that will give me enough pressure to be.........less chubby?
Okie..doesn't make sense at all but oh well.

Clinique Star Tour 2011

Before the makeover.

Haha.

Yup, that's the first word that came into my mind when I decided to register as a contestant for the tour!
Subconciously speaking, I would say the main reason behind my joining this competition is because I wanna compensate back the chance I let go with Hada Labo (it keeps haunting me everytime I saw the ad on tv!)..... :(

Anyway, to cut the long story short, we had to pay RM35 (Babe paid for me and in return I promised him something) which consisted of make up, hair styling, a portrait shot and a goodie bag worth RM130 to join the competition/makeover!
Sounds awesome, no? Indeed it was! Wait till you see what's in the goodie bag:

The goodie bag consisted of the latest Cleo magazine, a Clinique mascara, facial cleanser, toner, moisturizer and sunblock! (oh, and a reusable bag as well)
I really love the sunblock! It's non-greasy and pretty lightweight as well.

Poor babe had to wait for me for 2 hours during the makeover!
But he's been the nicest bf ever...waited for me, took videos and pics of Clinique crews beautifying me and still gave me the warmest hug at the end of the day. :)
Amazing how I never got bored of the same guy for almost 8 years.

7 Days Beauty Mask

Being the vain pot I am, I recently was persuaded to buy this 7 Days Beauty Mask from Yokoso, a Japanese shop located in Queensbay Mall (and several other places).
I have had it with me for 6 days now and I still fail to use it because I'm.......well......busy converting myself to a KL-ian....NOT.

Anyway, basically you are required to put a mask each day for 7 days in a row and see how your face texture/appearance changes!
Let's hope it's positive.

Triple H: Hydro Hotel Holiday!

During the 2nd week of July, the current company I'm working for organized an annual company trip to 5 different places: Penang hotel stay (Hydro or Copthorne Orchid Hotel), Pangkor Island, Langkawi Island, Kelantan and Genting.

But of course, we can only choose one and I decided to go for hotel stay because my initial Pengkor trip with Babe was cancelled due to this.

I chose Hydro Hotel because I've never stayed there before (in fact I don't think I've stayed in any of the hotels in Penang) and also because there were too many big bosses who chose Copthorne Orchid. :P

Hydro Hotel is easily found as there's signboard at the road side as you drive up the winding Batu Ferringhi road.
Nothing to boast about the hotel, just a simple 3/4 stars hotel with common facilities.

Since Babe and I are the only local islanders, we suggested a few places nearby for my colleagues and their partners to visit.
One of which was the Tropical Spice Garden.
I've been there once when I was much younger...can't remember much but I can remember the huge giant swing as we walked up the trail.
It cost us RM14 each to enter the place.

Couple 1: YS1 & Lui (not sure if I got that right)

Couple 2: YS2 (hahahah, I just noticed both my female colleagues have the same initials!) and Patrique.

It was mad hot that evening.
Wasn't even windy and I could literally feel my make up melting under the hot sun!
We were told to follow the colored arrow and somehow got lost because truth be told, the arrows are pretty confusing and no, the guys weren't that much of a help either!
Now who's to say girls are bad navigators!

Reached the giant swing a moment later...it was kinda fun to have your face blown against the wind to compensate the hot weather!

Caught a photo of a wedding couple having their photoshoot there...how sweet but all I can imagine was the amount of sweat on the wedding dress if I were to wear one!

Bleh, to be honest, it's not worth RM14 at all so to those who have the thought of visiting the place, please erase that thought!

After the walk, we wanted to have a dip in the pool but after looking at the amount of people + lotsa & lotsa kids, we thought maybe the beach will do just fine. :)
YS2 and partner were rather exhausted so left only the other 2 couples to enjoy the sunset...

Delicious: A Once In A Blue Moon Visit

A couple of weeks back, a few friends of mine (CY & Eve), Babe and myself decided to try the new Delicious restaurant in Straits Quay, Penang.

I have heard of the one in KL but it's the first in Penang so I guess it's worth the try. :)

I was kinda fascinated by the indoor decorations but too bad I didn't capture any photo :( .

But the first impression didn't last very long because no waiter was free to take our orders!

Not too sure why but it didn't only happen to our table, I saw other patrons having the same frustration, too!

Nonetheless, we managed to get the attention of a ~~cute~~ waiter and placed our orders immediately.

Bah, the food took quite long to reach us.

Anyway, here's what we ordered thatt day:

English Fish & Chips: RM29.90

I forgot what Eve ordered :S The dessert kinda suck though.

Shepherds Pie: RM19.90

Some marshmallow chocolate thingy. Can't remember the price but I initially thought it was a fondue until it turned out to be a glass of hot chocolate with marshmallows inside. :S

Red Velvet Cupcake: RM6.90. Me no likey. Too dry. But I'm not too sure how a red velvet cake should taste like though.


Traditional Beef Meatballs Spaghettini: RM19.90

The spaghetti was a LEGEND.
It was the first meatballs spaghettini WITHOUT a single chunk of meatballs.
When it came, I was wondering where they were hiding the meatballs, I even thought they might have chopped it so fine and mixed the small bits together with the spaghetti sauce but no!
When we decided that there was something wrong with the spaghetti, Babe enquired one of the waiters and he went to check with the kitchen.
It turned out that they FORGOT to put meatballs in my poor spaghettini. :(

After a while, the same waiter came out with a bowl of meatballs!

My meatballs! I think they gave extra. Heehee.

So that sums up what we had in Delicious for lunch.
I was rather disappointed because of the poor service but it's probably still new, so maybe in time they'll get better.
Nonetheless, it's rather PRICEY for someone like me who has just joined the rat race...so I'll only visit it once in a blue moon!

Today's topic is about getting out of your comfort zone.
And when I say comfort zone, I actually mean the zone which I have never left since I was born.
I guess you pretty much understand what I'm talking about now.

I knew long time ago that one day I will have to grow up, leaving this place I call home, to become a career woman, a wife, a mother etc.
But I never thought that this day will come so soon.
I have chosen this path, not knowing where it will lead me to.
The only thing I'm certain of is that the one person whom I have given my heart to will be there every single step I will be taking from next month onwards.
Which is something I'm very thankful for.

But like they say, when you receive, you'll have to give.
I will no longer have the privilege of having my mum preparing breakfast for me, buying/cooking me food, shopping, watching tv....crap, talking about this is making me tear up.
All in the name of having a better life in the future.

But what defines better life?
Is your life better when you are away from the people you have known for the rest of your life?
Will your future be better by earning more money?
Will the man you know for almost a decade give you the life you wanted after choosing this path?
Who will be your shopping partner?? -okay, maybe that's not that important but still...-

I have no definite answers to that.

All I know is no one can tell you which is right or wrong.
But what I can do is when it's wrong, I'll try to make it right.
When I fall, I will have to stand up on my own this time.
I will learn how to cook better, do more house chores and have a better lifestyle.

I know I can make a change.
A change for the better.

Time to grow up, CL.

Random Days In My Life

Actually I did try to blog a few times, you'd be surprised at the number of 'Untitled Post' I have under the draft section.
I just ran out of blog juices everytime I start typing a line or two...
But today's exceptional because it's a Saturday and Babe's in KL this weekend so I'm too free!
Was thinking of catching up with work but waking up too early on a Saturday morning doesn't really make me feel like doing any work related stuff.

And because this is random...I've got random things to mention about!

#1 Went down to KL for 2 days with my family and Babe....like crazy hectic!
I don't like it whenever I had to spend like only 1 or 2 days in KL cos' you pretty much can't do anything!

#2 Bought my first Majolica Majorca lipgloss! Was sold the first time I saw it...and best of all, I bought it at RM21. Usual price is RM33. Thanks to my Watsons points! Whee! :)

#3 Went for a hotel stay under my company's sponsorship! Amazing isn't it, I only joined full time for a month and a half, I already received my first bonus and free company trip! :D

#4 Chilled out with the girls (and Babe who was being very thoughtful that day :)) at Straits Quay! I'm probably banning that place for a good few weeks.

Well, hmm..what else to share.......pretty much nothing else!
Yes, unfortunately my life isn't that happening.

Come to think of it, I still haven't finished blogging about my Paris and London trip (I refuse to call it Europe trip because it's only like 2 countries out of the entire Europe)!

I Have Beens

Okie..time to update my blog again after a long hiatus.
Bet most of you already know why I haven't been blogging besides being busy with work. :P

Anyway, I realised I haven't been talking much about my work.
Actually, I wish I could but I have some constraints.
Sigh. If only the world is larger somehow.
But work has been going well, I'm more familiar with a lot of things now I guess.
Less frustration, higher expectations.
I'm not complaining (much) because I believe nothing is ever easy.
I believe my hardwork will pay off no matter how slow I am or how dumb I am to some people.
And I'm glad I've been squeezing every possible cent from my company (ahahhaah) and not to mention the bonus!
Although the amount is considered little to most of the engineers in the company, heck, I've just joined the company for a month and I'm already entitled to a bonus! :D

Work aside, I've been splurging!
Only on one thing la.
Bought myself a pair of Marc by Marc Jacobs sunglasses! Awesome sheeetz.
I've been eyeing on this particular one for months!
Actually I don't even know if I got the correct model I wanted because I bought it at a different outlet but nvm la, still looks good. :P
Will show next time when I have time to take proper pics of it.

Sigh, this is random, but sometimes (actually most of the time), I wish I'm at a different place/position (not exactly talking about my job).
I guess that's why it's called life.
But I promised myself, I will escape from this life (at least a part of it) I'm going through right now.
I know I will have regrets, but I haven't been really happy.
I want a happy life.
I wanna ESCAPE.

Babe is back!

Whee! So Babe is back from London, and I'm obviously over the top!
Been spending the whole weekend with him and life is simply splendid for now.
But weekend is coming to an end unfortunately... :(

Anyway we went to 1st Avenue yesterday to catch X-Men First Class and the movie was pretty good in my opinion.
I've never liked watching movies like Star Wars, Star Trek, X-Men (you get the drift) but I amazed myself when I actually enjoyed watching it yesterday.
Too bad Wolverine only appeared in a scene to say, "Go fuck yourselves." in the movie. -.-
Was hoping to see more of him!

Beauty Haul (Again!)

Okay...so I guess it's not a new thing to say that I'm a sucker when it comes to sales.
Yesterday when I woke up (too early, I have a pretty screwed up biological clock now after started working), the first thing I felt like doing was going online (because I have no life).
And guess what! I saw a post by Watsons on Facebook that it was having 60% sales for yesterday only!
I was super elated because there were things which I've always wanted to buy were on sales! Yay! :D

So off I went to the Gurney Watsons and I was lucky enough to be able to reach my hands on all the things I wanted (and more! :\ )!
Here's what I bought!

Oh right. This wasn't from Watsons obviously. A white nail polish from The Face Shop for my DIY French manicure!


Guess how much I bought each of this Pantene shampoo for?? RM5.96 for each!! Am so glad I didn't buy it last week for RM13.90 each! I almost didn't manage to buy this because the Watsons staff told me they ran out of stocks already! But he was kind enough to ask his colleague to reserve for me at the 1-Stop Watsons! How lucky! :D

Ooh, a lot of people have been raving about the Hada Labo lotion (toner)! I wanted to buy it weeks back (at RM40.90) when I decided not to and bought a Nivea toner instead. But it was on sales at RM26.59! :DD

I bought a Silkygirl Double Intense Gel Eyeliner for RM9.56 instead of RM21 for its normal price! Never really noticed this before because usually I'll do my homework on a product before purchasing it but this was quite on impulse as my Maybelline eyeliner is finishing.

The brush! Quite easy to apply on actually! Kinda satisfied with my first gel eyeliner! :)

I was tempted to get the Shu Uemure cleansing oil after getting my salary this month but that will have to wait now! Because the Maybelline make up remover was on sale at RM6.76!

My last mascara was the Majolica Majorca mascara which I bought like 2 years back? It's time to get a new one! I've heard about several vibrating mascara and decided to give this Maybelline Pulse Perfection Vibrating Mascara a try! Sharing it with my sister though. We bought this for RM23.96 instead of RM59.90!

At night, I attended a colleague's wedding dinner and decided to try putting on eyeshadow.
Of all the make-ups I have, I suck at putting eyeshadow somehow.

For the dinner, I applied this Maybelline Eye Studio eyeshadow which my sister bought! Hehe. It's good to have a sis who makes up, too! :P

This was taken after the wedding dinner...the eyeshadow looks quite light here but I think it's quite heavy already for me.. :/

So I decided to stop waiting.

Before we get into that topic, let me just redeem myself for the long hiatus.
I have been working for real! Haven't gotten my paycheck yet for my full time job but I'm getting half my pay this 15th!
Can't wait! I don't have a lot of wants right now but I wouldn't mind having some extra cash in my bank account! :)

So back to my topic, I've decided to stop waiting.
To stop waiting for him to come back.
I've been spending way too much time and years of my life waiting for him.

I can still recall the time I cried so hard when he told me he was gonna leave for Sunway in 2006 then in 2007, he told me he will be heading to London for 4 years.
I'm sure a lot of girls have gone through such phase but not a lot are willing to hold onto it for so long.
So after almost 6 years of separation (although not continuously), I've decided to quit.

Quit because I'm tired.

Quit because I need to look forward to my future instead of reliving the past every now and then.

Quit because I have a permanent job now, and I hope to be able to do well in it.

Quit because I should learn to let go.

Quit because I still love him.

Quit because HE IS FREAKING COMING BACK IN 9 DAYS!!!!!!!

To some of you who have visited the temple, the scene from the picture above is probably way too familiar.
To those who have no idea what that is, it's actually an exam timetable of students hoping to get some luck/blessings from Buddha (I don't know if I get it right...).
Fyi, I did it too last time when I was much younger but I don't know whether it worked or not.
All I know is hard work will pay off but I don't see the harm of asking for blessings in that way though.

Plus instead of clicking a timer manually after every shot (and run here and there to catch up with the timer), you can now snap as many pics as you want while just staying put at any spot!

He bought one too many so I'll be selling this for RM15! Price is negotiable.

Mother's Day Dinner

I almost didn't get to log in to my blogger account! Tried for hours and finally am able to now.
Phew~ the thought of not having access to the blog which I've been working on for years really scared the shit outta me.

Anyways, how did you celebrate Mother's Day this year?
For my family, we didn't do anything special, other than having a Thai dinner at Bravo Cafe located in town area.
The idea was just a random one because I saw the advertisement on a website and thought why not just buy the voucher and treat my family since we rarely eat out together.

So here are the photos of the day!

Because we booked earlier, so the dishes were prepared by the time we got there and they were still hot but ready to serve.

A very normal kerabu which tasted like........kerabu.
I'm a very poor food commentator because my taste buds are pretty screw up!
At least that's what I think. :P

Green curry chicken.

I totally dislike this green curry chicken, probably because I'm not really a big fan of anything curry (although my name does sound like one wtf).
My sis likes it though. The chicken tasted a bit weird to me.

Fried vegetables.

This turned out to be quite nice actually.
I liked the idea that they deep fried the vegetable so it's quite unique and tasted not bad.

Stuffed crabs.

There were 4 of us but they only served 3 stuffed crabs. -.-"
Because apparently the voucher says the food can feed to about 3-4 persons but definitely not the stuffed crabs.

Tomyam seafood.

The tomyam soup was rather nice for a person like me who doesn't like spicy food that much.
There were squids and fish slices in the soup but looks can be deceiving.
The pot is actually very shallow! Not much of squids and fish slices. Instead the pot was filled with a lot of herbs and what not.

Thai steamed fish fillet.

This, in my opinion was the best dish of all.
The soup was a bit too salty but yet it was really delicious.
The fish was fresh and it was still steaming hot when it was brought to our table.

Meng kom.

No one wanted to touch this. Even my mom!
And to think that my mom seems to like traditional food, apparently she doesn't when it comes to this. :S
But to avoid wasting of food, I decided to eat such raw leaves for the first time in my life!
I thought I was gonna puke at first but in the end it was alright, especially when the honey and the nuts were added, the leaves didn't feel that awful anymore.

Sago dessert.

The sago dessert is pretty much like those you'll get everywhere.
Nothing to scream about that. But I don't remember this being in the menu when I bought the voucher.
Maybe it was on the house?

So yes, the dishes were enough for the 4 of us.
Actually it came with steamed rice but I didn't take pics of the white rice la..nothing so special about that.

Verdict: I don't really like the service there and the only dish I really liked was the fish. If it wasn't for the voucher I bought, it would have easily cost me RM100 for this dinner set which is totally not worth the price if this is the portion for 4 people.

Dear 16 Year Old Me,

You should know that this is the year when you will finally get to wear the red tie and skirt you've been yearning for.
The main reason is because you never liked your blue pinafore as it isn't the nice greenish blue Kimnovak pinafore which a lot of your other friends are wearing and your mom will normally just sew again the bottom of your pinafore to make it longer as you grow taller.
When you finally get appointed as a prefect, you will execute your duties well even if it means having more foes in your class who dislike you especially when you ask them to lower down their voices.

On top of that, a lot of people will misunderstand you for being a strict yet cruel prefect because apparently your 555 notebook has the most number of delinquents (with 3 quarter of them being the latecomers) among other prefects.
What to do, your senior prefects demand that you and your other peers should have more names written in that book because they don't believe that we don't catch anyone disobeying school rules.
So yes, somebody in your sister's class will eventually vote you as the "Don't play-play prefect" or something of that sort during your graduation dinner in the following year because of that....but you won't win it anyway!

This year, you will become closer to a friend, a friend whom you didn't get to know that well before even though you were in the same patrol last year.
She will be in the same class as you because initially you both are planning to take the IT subject but in the end, you both will drop it and eventually sit together in the class.
Who would have known, in Form 5, you both will be inseparable, sharing each other's deepest secrets, the tears and joy and right until now, after 8 years, you will still be in touch, calling each other buddies. :)
But damn it, she will be making twice the amount of money you're making now so you should stop dreaming about your prince charming who is apparently still in London and get a life instead!

Anyway, one of your regrets would be not having to maintain the close relationship you used to have with another 3 of your classmates.
These 3 people you knew since Form 1 are the people who you have always been close with, the people you too know can share your secrets with.
But deep down inside, you feel inferior.
Inferior because you know you're not as smart as them, inferior because they do not compare your results with them as theirs are better than yours and you eventually shun yourself away from them.
That, my-self, is a big mistake.
But you know they will always welcome you with open arms whenever you need them.
However, things get a little too late sometimes, so eventually, you can only wish you could turn back time and do things differently.
Although 8 years later, you will still be able to bond back with at least 2 of them, and hope to make things right again.
While another one is coming back next CNY!

This year will also mark the first time you have your puppy love(s) (although you will think that it's true love).
This guy was nice to you the year before during a camp and you will be very happy and excited when he asks you to be his gf although you know you might hurt another friend's feeling.
You feel really bad, because you have known your friend since elementary school and this will cause both of you to stop talking for quite some time. :(
It isn't your intention to hurt her at all, hopefully she knows that.
But heck, after 2 weeks of the so-called 'relationship', you get dumped because apparently that guy wanted to further his studies elsewhere but he will eventually end up with another one of your friends. Talk about karma. Haha.
But you won't get angry with that friend because she's too cute to get mad at and who are we kidding, it's only 2 weeks, never even hold hand/kiss/hug...only eat together once or twice. Hahaha.

But you will cry so badly during your tuition, causing stares from other tuition mates but you will be thankful that you have your new found close friend to console you when you need her the most.
And not to mention, you will feel stupid for being so emotional because half a year later, you will be grateful for being dumped.
And so, life goes on....

When you're 16, you will be able to buy your very first mobile phone with the money you earn from being a part-timer.
You will start playing miss-calls because somehow a lot of people like to waste their phone's battery life and you will be tempted to do the same.
Yes, very silly indeed.
But one fine day, you will do something that you'll be proud of for probably the rest of your life: You miss call him, innocently because he is one of the few people who has mobile phone at that time.
He's a very straight forward yet curious boy at that time so he calls back without knowing that you are just playing 'miss-calls'.
Then in January next year, he'll ask you (or rather his friend will do the deed) THE question.
And your answer to his question will be the most brilliant answer you have ever answered in your life thus far.

Oh and you will get a pathetic 4B for your moral in SPM thanks to your moral teacher, Sugus who caused most of your friends to get their SPM results ugly as well. Hmmph!

Then the rest will be history which you will be jotting down in here.... :D

Since I've already edited and resized the photos from my previous holiday trip, I decided to blog about it before I get too lazy!
Will have to kick my white angel aside for the moment. :P

Anyway, just like what most people would say, if you ever go to countries like UK etc, you should not miss the chance to go other EU countries as well!
And so, that was what Babe and I did for 4 days 3 nights.

WE WENT TO PARIS!!!!!!!!

In fact, it was Babe's 2nd time there and when he was there the 1st time, I remember asking him why did he go to the most romantic city in the world without me!
He promised me before that one day in the future, he'll bring me to Paris and so he did (although the day came wayyyyy earlier than I had expected).

So we took the Eurolines bus to Paris from Victoria, London and it was snowing all the way.

In the bus, can't wait to reach Paris!!

Supposedly it should only take us 6 hours to reach but due to the bad weather (it was still snowing), we ended up reaching Paris after 10 hours!
Things would be much more pleasant if it wasn't also for another couple who can't stop yapping beside us throughout the whole journey causing both our sleep! Urgh.

Reached Paris! Bought our daily passes for the Paris Metro.

The first thing I managed to notice about the buildings in Paris is that almost all of them were painted with graffiti!!
When I say almost all of them, I really mean it!
The weird thing is that, how did they manage to paint those graffiti at places which are really high up??
You know, the kind of places which can only be reached by ladders and whatnot.
Those artists must be really enthusiastic. Hrrmmm.
However, they're not ugly graffiti....they're actually very artistic and not like some random passerby who just sprays "XXX was here!" kinda thing. -.-

Anyway, first stop was our place of accomodation - totally forgot the name (oh, it's Perfect Hostel).
All I can remember was upon reaching the station, it was still raining and poor luggage was drenched as we walked towards the hotel. :(

Oh and the 2nd thing I noticed about Paris??
Nope, nothing romantic or beautiful just yet, but poops.
Yeap, dog poops.
I was rather taken aback because who would have thought a place as romantic as Paris will be filled with such a thing on the pavement!
I don't mind if it's like you know, one or two, but there were really A LOT along the walkway. (you can even google about it)
I can only thank god for not stepping on any throughout my time there!
Imagine having to look out for poops everytime when you walk instead of enjoying the scenery in Paris. T__T

Anyway, we were a tad early to check in so after leaving our luggage in the hostel, we decided to explore the city.

It's located right beside the famous La Grande Arche de la Fraternité (aka La Grande Arche de la Défense - I obviously googled both). Photos below!

Then we reached this market called Marche de Noel which basically functions like a night market but the difference is that it's carpeted!!
Imagine how damped the red carpet was...and my boots were still leaky fyi. FML.

Actually, I wished Parisians were a bit more friendly.
When we were near the food stall, they happily screamed something in French (most probably welcoming us to buy the food) then when Babe approached one of them and asked, "Parlez-vous anglais?", chich means do you speak English in French.
The guy straight away changed his facial expression and said, "A little".
More of such experiences along the way.

Yay, happy with my noms noms!! Hood was on because it was cold like mad. The food was the only thing that kept my hands warm! The gloves were pretty...meh.

I realized I complained a lot about Paris...but it doesn't mean I don't like the city.
I have always been in love with old historical and vintage-looking buildings, which was one of the reasons I love Europe so much.
But after all, I had the perfect companion which tops everything else. :)

One of the Best Days

Today is no doubt one of the best days in my life.
Well, it first started with me waking up at 7am just to get a pathetic but important signature from my external examiner for my thesis (although this did not exactly make my day).
People from my uni especially my coursemates would have known today is the last day of thesis submission and all of us have at least a week to submit it after our viva ended last week.
However, just to clarify things (and to remind myself when I read this entry again after years), I am not such a huge procrastinator until have to pass up my thesis on the last day of submission.

Well, I have been working as an engineer in one of the oem's here on a contract basis since mid March until end of this month.
So basically after my viva on Tuesday, I had to head back to work early in the morning on Wed right until Friday.
Then on Monday when I wasn't working, I headed back to school after correcting my thesis and all, hoping to get my supervisor's and external examiner's signatures before passing it up on the same day.
But alas, my external examiner wasn't around and my PC refused to sign my thesis for me because she was on pms.
So I had to drive all the way back to the island and come back to uni again today because yesterday was a public holiday!
Which explains why I had to submit my thesis today.

End of story.

So anyhow, after handing it up, I felt like I could fly because it was as though a boulder was lifted off my shoulder after 4 years.
The feeling felt so surreal, I almost teared (hahaha, exaggerrating much but it's true!).
Then I treated myself to McD breakfast and guess what, they ran out of sausage mcmuffin!
But I happily agreed to the McD staff when she offered me egg mcmuffin instead, must be the good mood! :P

In fact, today I had a few goals to be completed, which is to redeem all my free samples from Clarins and Estee Lauder.

CLARINS

To combat cellulites! My hand feels really smooth and soft after she applied the lotion on my arm. It smells really good too!

Moisturizer, recommended by the salesperson. A deep cooling effect when slapped on my another arm (haha) by the salesperson.

ESTEE LAUDER

New B.B cream. Haven't tried yet.

Although it's just 5ml samples but hey, why spend hundreds of ringgits on a product which you do not have any idea whether it works or not?
Better yet, try it for yourself than just listening to others right?
But 5ml is just like...well, maybe it can last you for like a couple of days?
And who knows you can see/feel the difference then you might have just found your favorite skincare!

Anyhow, while waiting for the Clarins salesperson to come, I went and enquired about Clinique products because I have heard a lot of good reviews about them and I have a lot of concerns regarding my eye area *shakes head*.
The Clinique salesperson was the best of the lot.
Maybe because she was very attentive, willing to spend time talking to me and best of all, she didn't once force me to buy the products.
All she did was convincing me on how effective they are and providing me with several samples to try before deciding whether to spend such immense amount of money on skincare products.

Eye cream to fight fine lines, wrinkles, dark circles, puffiness etc.

So yes, people, although enquiring without buying might make you look like a cheapskate and 'green label' as how the Hokkiens would address such people, but it's definitely better than to buy them only to find out that they don't work on your skin.

My skin must be the luckiest of all my body parts today.

Then when I reached home, look what came in the mailbox! No, it's not LipIce again...it's a Royal Mail, all the way from Edinburgh, UK!

Anyway, I'm heading back to work tomorrow! Hopefully I'll get more task to do because I really feel more like an intern than a real engineer now due to my odd schedule at work.

Super bad habit I know! I just can't help it!!
So I can't really justify the results yet. :P

Oh well, I'll probably just try it again when my lips feel a lot better.

My First Experience Playing In The Snow @ Hyde Park!

Before I talk about my 'fire', I shall blog about something which I have been procrastinating on for the longest time!
My first experience with snow in London!

Ok ok so maybe it happened like almost half a year ago but these are good memories so they shall all be immortalized in my blog FOREVAAA!!

Anyway, one morning when the snow storm was still ongoing, Babe and his friends decided to have dim sum at a Chinese restaurant which I've totally forgotten exactly where it is located.
It wasn't really cold but the snow made it so difficult for me to walk on because I'd like to believe that I bought a pair of rather useless boots from Sg. Wang and I kept slipping!!

*hears peeps yelling: Enough of the grandma story!! We want photos!!*

Oh, did I mention I love walking in London??
Only during winter season though because I barely even sweat a bit!
In fact, I did a lot of walking in London more than I ever walked in my life here in Malaysia!
But too bad my boots were leaky so apart from the half frozen feet, everything was perfect. :)

(McDonalds) McDelivery Sucks.

So few weeks back, I decided to order McDelivery for the first time in my life.
I've never made any orders through the phone before (as I can remember) so I thought why not, since I was hungry and there was no food at home.
In fact, there's a McD outlet less than 2km away from my house but I didn't wanna go out from the house as the weather was crazy hot and I didn't have my car with me.
So yes, maybe you can say I'm such a lazy pig but I was really hungry! Can barely move. :/

Long story short, I made the call and it took me a whole 10-15mins? to complete my order when I only ordered ONE freaking McValue meal.
I wanted Sundae as well but the operator said there's no Sundae available in the McD near my house.
I was like wtf?! No Sundae on a hot day? So nevermind, I thought.
Then, lo and behold, she asked me to wait for a maximum of 45mins for the delivery..I almost cancelled my order when I heard that.

So I waited.

10 mins gone.

What the hell?!? It's only bloody less than 2km and after 40 mins, my door bell rang.
I flashed a smile at the delivery boy and thanked him for bringing my late lunch for me as I paid him.

But after all the waiting, this was what I received:

A freaking dirty straw with its wrapper torn!!!!!!!

I don't usually like to complain like this but I was really pissed off because not only they made me wait for so long but this is the kind of service I received from a reputable fast food brand??
So maybe the delivery man accidentally dropped the straw while on his way here or whatever the reason is, he could at least throw the straw away and not give it to the customer!
If that's the case, I would probably just complain about why didn't they give me a straw but I won't be as pissed as I was for receiving a DIRTY straw.

UNBELIEVABLE.

So yes, I swore I'll never call for a delivery again because IT SUCKS. Learnt my lesson well.

ps: I remember browsing through a McD page on Facebook where their fans posted their experiences with McD. Then I realized I wasn't alone. There were so many complaints! Far worse than mine!! I should be thankful. But now I can't seem to see the pics anymore...hmm. Wonder why!

So if you can get a better quality bottle for a tad higher price, then I guess it isn't that bad after all.. :)

Beauty Haul & Sushi King Bonanza

I still haven't blogged about my London trip last Dec!
Sigh...feeling so lazy to resize and upload so many pic...guess it'll have to wait!

Anyway, I went to 1st Avenue just now to shop for some beauty necessities and have lunch with my gf's at Sushi King!
Life feels so gooooooooooood when you have little things to worry about!
Or at least it's little until they become more apparent. :/

It was a good hair day!
I have been trying so hard to get my skin back to its condition before all the exams and project stress came.
But I've been sleeping late (at least 2am everyday without fail...sigh) so it's pretty much still the same except for the fact that I stop being so stressed up.
So I decided to doll up a little but with no eyeliner because I kinda felt too lazy to draw the lines...

Top left: Cheapo nail polish remover from Dynns? An accessories shop in 1st Avenue and it has thin cotton pads soaked in the remover solution..it worked well when I tried using the tester.

Bottom left: Olay White Radiance cream cleanser. A product I used to swear upon and finally came back to using it after Hada Labo and Ginvera. I think I mentioned somewhere in my blog before that I like to constantly change my skincare products because I feel that when the same product is used on the skin for too long, the effect isn't that significant anymore to me.

Right: Garnier self-heating sauna mask. Normally I'd grab the Garrnier Lightening Peel-Off mask but I thought it's time to change too! :D

I know this is gonna sound wrong to some people, but I think I'm a really good kid at heart.
Everytime after getting my pay for my part time work, I'll look forward to the moment when I give some of my pay to my mom.
I know right, it's weird to feel happy to do that.
But she's the only person one earth (thus far) whom I'll be more than happy to give my money to unless I'm running short of it myself.

I have friends telling me that I look/am rich because of some unknown reasons (which I never really bother to ask).
In fact, I'm really not rich at all if you know me enough.
I'm probably one of the stingiest/ most kiam siap (after all I'm just a typical Penangite) friends/persons you know because I hardly splurge and I order sky juice when I'm broke. :P

You see, I started working part time in the shoe industry (hahahah, just a salesperson in a shoe boutique la) when I was 16 and I didn't really get to enjoy most of my school holidays.
I remember taking bus to and fro from work (not legal to drive yet, parents busy working, brother & sister were studying, grandma...are you kidding me?!?) and having someone to buy me carbonated drinks and was questioned by my boss if he was my bf (which he wasn't yet at that time I think), those were the days. haahahah.

And because of that, I managed to buy my very first mobile phone:

And it lasted me a good few years until I decided to get a new phone which was this because of the color screen fever:

LG model. Forgotten which model and yes I still keep it!

However, this LG model lasted me very short because in 2007, it gave up on me (I don't know why but as you can see my phone still looks very new) and I changed a new phone again after upgrading my part time job to becoming another salesperson in OSIM while waiting for STPM results (which made me realise I will not want to be in any sales/marketing related jobs in the near future) because of its high pay.
And this was what I bought:

Oh yes, I'm a HUGE Nokia fan. Whenever anyone asks me which phone to get, I'll straight away say Nokia. That's how much I trusted/loved Nokia.
In fact, my first Nokia didn't spoil when I decided to get this new one but I gave it to my mom.
I'm not too sure what's with the flip phones but I tend to get more attracted to flip phones at that time.
I have never once dropped my Nokia 6131 until now.
The first dropped was caused by a friend whom I asked to take care of it for a while (which she obviously didn't!!) and another drop was also caused by a friend whom wanted to play with my phone and accidentally dropped it when he was passing it back to me.
Nonetheless, it still functions very well and that was why I LOVE LOVE LOVE Nokia phones!!
The only physical defect it has is that the smooth black skin keeps peeling so I decided to bling it:

I have no intention to change my Nokia phone actually...but then smartphones came into play around 2007/2008.
With great deals from telco providers, everyone who is anyone can easily afford one (wow that's a lot of one's).
So..after fiddling around with Babe's BB (iPhone 3Gs), I think I sort of kicked Nokia aside. :P
Now if anyone asks me which smartphone to get, with no doubt I'll tell them: iPHONE!!
I loveeeeee his white 3Gs (I keep telling him it's so feminine because it's white (the word white is before the '3Gs 'and he should *coughsgiveittome*)!!!

Obviously I was just kidding la.
He said he can't afford to give me an Apple just yet (although he won me an iPod (Pink Angel) but but guess what, I have a White Angel now!! (okie you have gotta highlight the space again...)
Will reveal it soon!!

Wow, totally digress from my initial blog objectives.
Anyway, so I bought all the phones (except White Angel) with my very own blood and sweat and not to mention the bill too (although I occasionally asked my mom to reload for me when I'm really broke).
And I'm really very proud of myself!

And as I've said a thousand times before in this blog, I normally shop only when things are on sale.
I don't go about buying an LV bag (although now if you can't afford the bag, you can always go to The LV Boutique which is located near Island Hospital) or an 'inspired' designer bag because I still can't afford one.
The most expensive bag I've gotten for myself was the BUM Equipment handbag which I bought at a 70% discount from almost RM200! *grins*

And all my clothes are not from Topshop, Guess, Levi's etc.
They're just from random exclusive boutiques in Prangin Mall or Queens or Gurney.
I said exclusive because you know la the shops in Prangin, left turn, right turn, every shop will sell the same clothes with different prices. So I normally opt for the ones in the middle atrium.
Less people shop there but their clothes are really great plus they don't come in bulk!
Although it's a bit more pricey but nothing more than RM70.

So yes, there you have it..although I don't think I look/pretend to be rich, at least I try to look the best I can.
Crap, talking about looking the best, I have just foregone my golden chance to becoming one of the faces for a famous skincare brand in Japan and Malaysia, too.
In fact, the reason I joined the contest was to fulfill Babe's wish of having a model gf and I told him if I get shortlisted, it should count as a potential model-to-be gf as well! Hahahahaha.

Which I actually did make it to the Top 41 ~~maybe there were only 41 entries wtf~~ by sending in a photo of myself and a video!

Obviously wearing a white top was a strategy that works! Hahaha.
Nonetheless, I decided to give up the chance because I didn't wanna screw up my final year paper and project, not to mention having to juggle a job as well.
Sigh, I really looked forward to the casting which is scheduled tomorrow but it's all the way in KL!
Oh well, maybe next time. :(

So it's kinda late to even mention anything about CNY (or should I say it's too early?) but I've got to update my almost dead blog!
Life's been nothing but 'great' but I choose to enjoy it no matter how!

Anyway, it's a bunny year and bunnies are not having quite a luck, are they...... *stares at self

A Year Older, A Year Wiser.

That was what he said to me when we were having our virtual date on Skype last night.
Yes, life is sad right now and internet is the only thing that enables us to see each other now, at least for another few months (I hope).

Anyway, 23 years ago today, marks the birth of a man whom I treasure with my life, the man whom gives me unconditional love and the man whom I have loved (and still am) for more than 7 years and looking forward to more years!

Premier Screening: Drive Angry (Courtesy of Nuffnang!)

Woots! After 3 years of joining the Nuffnang blogging community, I finally earned myself two premier screening tickets for the movie Drive Angry!
This is (probably) the first time Nuffnang has ever held such screening in Penang because most of the premier screenings were held in KL/Selangor.
I was really elated when they sent me the invitation upon selecting my slogan as one of the Top 75 for the screening!

And where was the screening held? Look no further.........

That's right! It's none other than the first TGV Cinemas in this little island.

TGV is located on the 8th floor in 1st Avenue (which was opened last November) and it can be accessed through both the escalators and elevators!
I had a hard time trying to search for the cinema because I didn't know it was at the top floor and the escalators are situated at the corner of the building!

The Nuffnang crew came at almost 3pm to distribute the passes and my seat number was ~~flying like a~~ G6 (okie a bit redundant but hey, I like that song).
And of course I wasn't alone for the movie!
I invited CY along to enjoy the movie with the rest of the Nuffnangers!

The movie took about 2 hours and my verdict about it is: Please don't waste your money to watch it.
In my opinion, the movie is way far from Nicolas Cage's standard (such as National Treasure, Face/Off to name a few).

It has a lot of untold stories like where the hell (in the end I realized they did come from hell after all, no kidding) did Milton (Nicolas Cage) and The Accountant (acted by the guy who acts in Prison Break as Mahone- lazy to google for his name) did they come from.
And the whole movie felt pretty much like a low budget movie somehow.
Fyi, I'm not being ungrateful for the tickets but both CY and I were rather disappointed with the movie.

And be mentally prepared to hear a lot of the word 'F*ck' from beginning until the end of the movie.
But the girl was really hot wtf.

However, I was also a bit disappointed because the Nuffnangers in Penang didn't get the chance to mingle among ourselves (or did I miss the networking session).
Probably because this is the first screening in Penang....so Nuffnang, please do more events/activities for the bloggers in Penang!
Nonetheless, thank you for the free passes!

My First Musical Show and Snow!

Spotted: Two and a half ~~men~~ seats.

Day 2 (haha don't worry I'm not gonna write a blog post for every single day) was the much anticipated day!
Babe signed both of us up for an investment talk held by Robert Kiyosaki (Rich Dad Poor Dad's author).......'s group.
Initially we both thought the person himself was gonna give the talk! That was why I was really looking forward to it after reading Rich Dad.
But nonetheless, we had a great time, learnt a few tips about investment and hopefully we'll be great investors in the future!

Maybe I should consider enlarging my photos and blog posts again..

Oh, did I mention the talk was held at Hilton Kensington?

Anyway, after the talk, we walked across the street to one of the newest malls in London: Westfield!
This is the first mall I've ever been to in London and it was also Babe's first time there!

Random note: Everywhere (well almost) in London has cctv! Quite scary but it actually makes you feel a lot safer! Well, couldn't blame them after what happened few years ago..

Westfield is pretty much like any other malls in Malaysia except that it has sky high ceilings, ginormous decorations and beautiful lightings!
The security didn't allow us to snap photos without any human object inside, well, for security purposes again..
But I sneakily took these few pics below with my Red Devil! hehe.
And I was really in love with the decorations in the mall itself!

I so want this as my future Christmas tree! Can slowly eat the tree up to save space!

Since shopping is already in my blood, I couldn't resist myself and started searching for lip gloss which was something I've been wanting to get!
And the Superdrug store in London is like Watsons and Guardians in Malaysia!
Only difference is it is much bigger than both!

Too excited hence the big grin.

The funny thing about shopping for cosmetics in Superdrug is they have this screen where you can choose the ligloss color of a certain brand, then face yourself in front of the screen for your face to be snapped and wala, you can see how the color looks like on your lips!
So awesome!!
I spent quite an amount of time there la because I was really spoilt with choices ~~and technology~~ but Babe was so nice!
He didn't complain even a bit which makes me feel even more guilty than ever. :(

If there's another thing I love about London, it has gotta be the fact that everyone who lives in London knows that whenever you're on an escalator, you should stand to your right to let others pass through!
We never do that in Malaysia. :/

At Chinatown, feeling extremely cold! Hardly could get any decent picture!

On one of the days in London (Day 5 to be exact), Babe took me to watch one of the longest-running broadway show in history: Wicked!

Hardly see such a bright and shiny day in London!

I didn't know that musicals are such a hit in London!
According to babe's housemate, Reuben, Londoners love watching musicals just as how we Malaysians love watching movies in the cinema!
And he totally wasn't kidding.

Such a huge crowd turnout for that night itself!

For a moment, I thought the salesgirl was a mannequin. :/

We weren't allowed to capture any video/photo during the show but basically it tells the other side of the story in the Wizard of Oz.
Unlike me, I watched WOZ before but only once and I hardly remember the story but I still enjoyed myself a lot!
Really love how all the performers seemed to make the show effortlessly successful (after all I'm sure they've performed for a very long time now..)!
If you guys have a chance to visit London, do remember to watch Wicked!
I'm sure you won't regret it! ;)

Day 5 was also when I saw snow for the first time!
Sleet is not counted la because I barely felt it since it melted right when it touched my hand!
At that moment, Babe already went to college and Zhen (his housemate) suddenly told me about it as I walked out from the bathroom!

The first time I ever witnessed a snowstorm!

When he told me there was a snowstorm outside, I imagined something like this:

Fine fine, I was exaggerating. :P
I could barely contain my joy when I saw the snow and grabbed my camera without hesitation (typical Asian, everything also must take photos instead of living the moment wtf)!
But of course i enjoyed the view and wished Babe was there to witness it with me! :(

However, the snowstorm only lasted for a very short while!
When Babe came back, I told him that I wanted to play with the snow and that was exactly what we did the next day!
