What's On My Face?

If you can't already tell by now, I'm a make up junkie.
As junkie as I am though, I usually won't buy new make up until my current one is used up.

I know I have a lot of chemicals on my face but really, sometimes I wish I could turn back time but if you know me well enough, I have a specific spot (quite huge) which I always need to cover up.
That was the reason I started exploring cosmetics and because of that, there is no way back anymore. :(

Anyway, sappy story aside, here's my arsenal of make up! Woohoo!
Okay maybe most people can't tell I have so many things on my face but trust me, these are already considered the least for people who put make up on every day..

L-R: Dior Lip Maximizer, Burberry Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base, Chanel Les Beiges (No. 20), Urban Decay Optical Blurring Brush, Diorskin Nude Air in 010, Burberry Face Contour - Effortless Contouring Pen in Dark (No. 02), Shu Uemura Petal Lash Mascara (intense black) and Benefit's Benetint lip & cheek stain.
Front: Empro Triangular brow pencil

Phew. Okay that's long.

Here's a close up of the items:

1. Dior Lip Maximizer

This is seriously something I don't need. Okay who am I kidding, I don't even need all of those things I listed above! Hahahha.
But I really love this because I have really bad chapped lips (almost on a daily basis) and putting lip balm is becoming useless as I tend to peel (I know, yucks) my lips when I'm anxious/nervous.
Unfortunately I feel like this almost everyday... :S

This lip maximizer however, does wonders to my lips so far!
It takes just a short while to plump up my lips and the cracks just suddenly feel smooth and I can apply lipsticks easily now!
Can even wear it to sleep and wake up with plump lips!

2. Burberry Fresh Glow - Luminous Fluid Base

I'm usually not the one that wears make up primer until I realised my skin is deteriorating because I wear make up everyday (I know, kinda oxymoron) and bought the Shu Uemura PORErase make up base. Then I stumbled upon this and I was sold when I saw how luminous it was when applied on my skin @.@
Though it's on the pricey side, the result is really worth it when you see your make up stays!

3. Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Cream (in No. 20)

You see, as much as I love make up, I'm usually also pretty lazy in putting them especially now that I wear them everyday.
A famous local blogger has been using this and her skin always looks so flawless so I decided to try it for myself too.
I love it! I use it on days when I feel lazy to apply the Shu Uemura foundation and this really works like magic!
It gives the skin a subtle healthy glow and I'm all-in for healthy looking/dewy skin!

4. Urban Decay Optical Blurring Brush

I wrote about this brush on my previous post! I use this with the Chanel cream and it works wonders!
Except that...

The bristles are coming off!

5. Diorskin Nude Air Loose Powder (in 010 shade)

This wasn't exactly a good buy. I (finally) finished my Shu Uemura's loose powder and after some research, I decided to get this one by Dior.
It was highly raved but I was disappointed from the first application.
Don't get me wrong, the coverage is what you would expect of a loose powder but what irks me most is how messy it can get!
There are days when I don't even move it (except when I travel with it) and the powder just spills on the sponge and on the plastic cover!
Then when I try to get the powder on the sponge, I always get too much because the holes are simply too big. Urgh.
Most probably wouldn't buy this again but looking at the amount, I think it'll take ages again for me to finish this. Haha.

6. Shu Uemura Petal Lash Mascara

Long time ago, when I was still a student, I used to highly recommend Majolica Majorca (MM) mascara which was then still new in the market. I thought it was the best mascara ever for my straight and short lashes.
After that, I have never changed my mascara (somehow Maybelline mascaras just don't work well on me) until I decided to give another mascara a try and found this.
It's almost 2x the price of MM but the holding power is amazeball. I use the cheap night market eyelash curler for a thousand years already but this mascara really holds the curl really well!
Will definitely repurchase this!

Close up shot of the wand.

7. Burberry Face Contour - Effortless Contouring Pen (in Dark 02 shade)

When I was in a Burberry make up session by Sephora, the make up artist introduced this to me and for someone who doesn't have a V-shaped face, I can only rely on contouring to achieve that almost ideal face shape. Okay maybe I should also cut down on my food intake too. :-/

Anyway, there are 2 shades available - 01 and 02. I got the darker one because the SA advised me that contouring is useless if you can't see the color and 01 is a little light on my skin tone.
That's how I started my contouring journey. I wouldn't say I'm perfect at it but I kind like the illusion it gives my face. :P

These are the usual spots I contour on. Sigh. Things I do to look and feel a wee bit better, huh.

8. Empro Triangular Brow Pencil

This one..I think I bought 4 years ago hahahaha. My eyebrows are pretty thick so I usually don't draw them unless someone (who shapes my brows when I go for my facial session) plucks/shaves too much until I need to. Hmmmph!
This Empro pencil was pretty famous few years ago and because I don't use it often, I still keep it till now!

9. Benefit Benetint Lip and Cheek Stain

My first lip and cheek stain was a complimentary sample from a SA in one of the malls in US when I was on a biz trip.
I love it so much that I decided to get the Benefit Christmas pack which comes with the above Benetint (smaller than the original size) and a tinted lip balm.
I'm not quite a fan of the balm but this I love!
It spreads easily (remember to spread it within the first 2 seconds of application or risk your cheeks/lips being stained!) and stays throughout the day.
What sorcery is this!

10. Dior Rouge Lipstick in Garden Party (760)

This is probably the first official lipsticks I own. It's very expensive la but I really am very fussy when it comes to lipstick colours and I think this one suits what I'm looking for.
Something that's not too loud yet makes a (subtle) statement.

My final look!

See! After all those make up, only the lipstick is obvious. Is this considered no make up make up, too?

More look of the day!

That's all for now! Gonna savour what's left of my Saturday before the last day of the weekend hits. :(

xoxo,
