VCR Coffee and Cakes, Jalan Galloway, Bukit Bintang

Lately I have been wanting to visit different coffee places (har har who am I kidding) during the weekends just to fill up my time not thinking about work (this I'm not kidding :P ).

One of the newest places my friends and I visited is VCR, which is located behind the huge Bukit Aman PDRM Headquarters.
It might be a little difficult to find as you'll have to make a turn into the smaller roads but be on the lookout for a corner unit painted in black and you should be able to spot VCR.

We went there on a Sunday and man, it was way too crowded. From the entrance to the upper deck, there were people at every corner!
The only place left was outside and...the heat was a little too much to take.

Since we had no choice, we made our way to the outside table and sat ourselves there while the other went down to place orders.
Thankfully, one kind man noticed us and offered his table for us before he left. Thank you! :D

Here's what OCY ordered:

French toast with pumpkin seeds, generous spread of mocha sauce and a scoop of ice cream to top it off.

Okay, that's basically what we had because the drinks we ordered were not up to par and the chocolate I had was served in the most basic glass anyone could ever have.

Mind you, I did not only pay for the food ok. I also want the environment and the artsy fartsy stuff that comes with it. :P

After some time, the crowd started dispersing and what else is there for girls to do in a cafe?
Photos please!

Review: O!Mega Lash in Blacquer by Marc Jacobs Beauty

I am really enjoying myself talking about beauty, aren't I? :P

Anyway, I have a lot of beauty products and I really want to share it out on my blog!

Today, I'm gonna talk about one of my recent purchases  - the O!Mega Lash in Blacquer by Marc Jacobs Beauty.
If I'm not mistaken, Marc Jacobs Beauty has just surfaced not long ago despite being in the fashion industry for so long.
In Malaysia, Sephora carries a wide range of Marc Jacobs Beauty and I decided to review on the mascara for this post.

My previous holy grail for mascaras was Majolica Majorca's Lash Expander but I have passed that phase now that my requirements for mascara are more towards thick and long lashes.
MM is really good in holding the curls but they are not thick enough for me.

So for Christmas last year, I asked Babe to get me the Marc Jacobs one after drooling over it for a few weeks. Haha.

This is how the mascara looks like:

The bristles look pretty common and even when I first opened it, I noticed there are already some clumps on the bristles which is a no-no for me!

Notice the clumps?

Here's how it looks on my straight (sigh) lashes:

Normal lashes with no curls and mascara.

My curled lashes after using the eye lash curler.

Here's after applying a coat of O!Mega Lash in Blacquer.

Honestly, I'm very disappointed with it! Although I've only applied one coat, the formula weighs down my lashes in no time!
I understand that this mascara is more towards volumizing which could be the reason why my lashes are being weighed down so quick!
I'm sure with a second coat, I will get back my straight lashes. :(

So, unless you have really nice curled lashes naturally, I would advise you to go for other mascara which is of lengthening rather than volumizing.
This is epic fail for me. :(

In fact, last weekend I actually bought one lengthening one and I'll share it in my following posts!

Till then!

A Little Too Obsessed With Zara

I've been quite obsessed with Zara lately! I'm usually not the type who likes to take OOTD because I can never get a good photographer *ahem* but I'm really in love with this striped body con dress!

Fell in love with it when I saw it and I really knew that I've got to have it. :P

Taken while having coffee session with OCY.

This was taken after a very successful shopping trip. Seriously, I can be very productive that it hurts the wallet when I shop alone!!! :-X

Totally love the cut in!

For a petite size person like myself, I love how the length fits me just nice.

Omg weird hips. Hahahhaha.

OOTD for the above attire:

Dress from Zara.
Bag from Michael Kors US.
Shoes from Reebok Skyscape US.

Last one!

Love the lighting in this photo!

Yazbukey for Shu Uemura Collection - Out in Malaysia Now!

Being a Shu Uemura fan for the longest time, I couldn't resist myself when I got to know Shu Uemura will be collaborating with Yaz Bukey, a Paris based accessory and jewellery designer after the successful Shupette collaboration with Karl Lagerfeld and his famous cat, Choupette.

Excerpt from the Shu Uemura US site:

Shu Uemura collaborates with Paris based accessory and jewelry designer Yaz Bukey for a frivolously fun and irreverently chic collection. Yaz Bukey is a fairy tale heroine come to life- the Paris-based Ottoman princess descends from Egyptian royalty. She reigns over her own queen-dome, the Yazbukey brand, worshipped around the world for its tongue-in-cheek feminine sophisti-pop.

Did I tell you I went to the extent of buying the Shupette cleansing oil (I had to hold myself back for the other items in the collection) on the very first day when it was launched in Malaysia? Yes, my addiction is that bad!

For this collection, we were informed that it focuses a lot on the eyes and the lips (pretty obvious right) and a very colorful one indeed!

There are 4 types of Yazbukey styles to adopt from this collection:

1. sexy YAZ (red) - it's all about the party yo~
2. smart LOLA (green) - sharp, intelligent and well-centered
3. romantic BETTY (yellow) - charming old-Hollywood style
4. daring TINA (blue) - creative, daring and stunning in avant-garde

Which is yours?

More photos of the collection:

So colorful! Here's the romantic Betty and sexy Yaz. I went for the sexy one haha!

How about the smart and daring one, anyone?

The range of the collection includes (with price):

1. i love my shu shu palette - RM296.00
2. custom case duo - RM 29.68; pressed eye shadow refill - RM62.60
3. lasting soft gel pencil - RM90.10
4. rouge unlimited supreme matte - RM82.68
5. dual fit pressed powder compact case- RM51.05
6. stage performer smooth-out instant pore blurring primer - RM153.70
7. cleansing oil - ranging from RM286.20 to RM381.60 for the different types
8. POREraser UV under base mousse SPF 35 PA+++ - RM134.62
9. flip color yaz / dazzling flare tina false eyelashes - RM71.00

The launch event was held at shu uemura, 1 Utama. Look who were the VIPs!

Gorgeous ladies of GBGTV. Too pretty!

There were even some finger food for the guests, so high tea-like with all those tiers!

This has got to be the one that caught my eyes the most:

Cupcakes with imprinted Yazbukey collection, anyone?

Brenda, who's the shu uemura MUA demonstrated how to create the sexy YAZ look in front of us.

The girls were also pampered with a manicure session! :D Totally feeling the love~

Here's mine:

Hehe so cute right!

That's all for the collection now! Grab yours at the nearest shu uemura outlets (wtf like spokeperson like that)!

Happy 28th to Me!

Not sure if it's a good thing to still be announcing my age this year now that I'm nearing 30, but heck, it's not like it's a big secret anyway.
So yes, I'm 28 this year and I celebrated it with a bang!!
IGC KL division was discussing on how they want to celebrate my birthday a few weeks before so they came up with a few suggestions to get the green light from me. Hehe.
Here's what we did!
1. Checked in to Doubletree Hilton cos I have points to spend! Woohoo!

A huge mirror along the corridor? Take pics of course!

Called the hotel to tell them I'm celebrating my birthday with my friends that night. #beipaiseh But..they spelled BIRTHDAY, BIRHTDAY. Wtf...

Vainest of them all!

2. Birthday dinner at Cantaloupe! Totally being spoiled silly by the girls :P

This is...foie gras lollipop? Can't remember what it's called.

I had this! It's fish and it's yummy..oh god. I can never blog about food.
My lovely companions for the night.

It's not everyday we get to go to such place, so we're not gonna act all high class and pretend it's totally fine not to take any photo... :D

OCY and CKQ!

I can haz balloons on my birthday!! :D
3. Back to hotel, awaiting for Miss Chan to appear..

Evelyn joined us later after having dinner with her parents. We actually asked the parents if we could join them for dinner. :P

Love this shot!! Thank you CKQ for bearing with the bimbos..

Yay everyone fit in the frame!

Love this too!!
4. The next day, we went for high tea at Majestic Hotel, KL. Seriously, any reason to pamper ourselves silly. Haha.
I'm not a fan of desserts but look at them tiers!! How to say NO??

Hehe very creative blotches of food paint? on a white chocolate.

Last but not least, the ladies without whom I would have a very dull life here in KL:

Thank you for the love. :)
