First Day in US

Katy Mills
They say, you don't come to the States and not do this - shopping.

.
Okay, I totally made that up myself.

But who are we kidding, if you're a skincare/make up junkie like myself, you can't say no to this!
Anyway, this is probably the only weekend I have to myself before I drown myself in work over the next couple of weeks. So yes to shopping, yo!

Let me explain a little bit on my experience today.

Looking at the hotel I'm currently staying at, there's pretty much nothing around except big international companies since it's a sort of business district I would think?
So I decided that on my first day (while still trying to fight jet lag), I should just do something that does not require a lot of mental exhaustion except money exhaustion T.T.

Getting a cab to Katy Mills (an outlet mall located about 15 mins from the hotel) would easily cost $30-35 one way.
But that's probably the best choice if you're not driving because really, the transportation here is pretty limited.

Anyhow, I made my way there and decided that I should shop as much as possible or I'll regret my life here.
Indeed, it was a pretty fruitful day at Katy Mills except that when you have shopped in other outlet stores before, you'll somehow be smarter when you shop there again.

The thing is, I've read articles saying that outlet stores do not necessarily sell the original design of the luxury brands, but it's more of lower quality products of that brand specifically produced to cater to the customers who are into outlet shopping.
So chances are, the items you buy in outlet malls will not be found in the actual store or online store.

If you're lucky enough though, you might get some out-of-season items in the outlet store at a slashed price. So just an advice, be smart when choosing the items in outlet malls. :)

I've always wanted a Michael Kors bag but I want to get it in the US itself. Fortunately for me, the day did come though today I've only visited the outlet store.

Lo and behold, at the store, almost 90% of the MK bags/wristlets/wallets etc have a huge MK logo on the upper middle of the bag that somehow don't seem original to me.
I'm not sure about you but I have not seen this placement of the logo in the original online website before (please correct me if I'm wrong).
Not mentioning the intricacy of the sewing method is almost non existing.

But if you're fine with it, by all means get them because it's your choice, of course.
Just that this is a piece of information I thought it's good to share. :)

Anywayyyy, I got so tired of shopping after a few hours because I felt so sleepy by 2 pm (I left at 11am) and decided that I should head back.

By the time I reached the hotel room, I was a dead fish. Slept till 8 plus and totally missed dinner time.

So here I am now, blogging away because I can't sleep!! Oh, and I have Barney playing on the tv, too.

xoxo,
